The Path is not Straight. . . .

I found this magnet in the airport and wanted to share.  I love it:)

I'm off to lunch on a patio....I'm glad my one day in town will be spent under the sun. Then I'm on a hunt to find a cute luggage tote. A lady on my last flight had the most adorable Jon Hart luggage tote, but there aren't any left in the off white color I want. If any of you ladies have recommendation PLEASE share.  I need a tote that can carry my work lap top inside and purse.

Love & Friendship.

My work week of travel started with a small challenge. This lil guy.

I had to fit 5 days in this thing! 5 days. I'm a self-admitted worse kind of high maintenance {Harry, When Harry Met Sally}, the high maintenance that thinks they're low maintenance. Part of my struggle is I carry work materials and AV - necessities only rule is well...necessary. In an effort to prove to myself that I can be low maintenance, I thought this was a decent challenge. And look, to my surprise.  Tuesday night - I successfully completed my challenge. I almost pulled a Confessions of a Shopaholic move and shipped some things to my hotel. But nope, I did it. Ta-da

I decided to spend the weekend in Texas with one of my best friends, Emily, after I finished up my work events!

We brunched at Breadwinner's Friday morning and this place was the perfect brunch spot and had amazing food!  {the mimosas weren't so bad either}

She lives downtown, so later that night all of her friends joined us in grilling out! The conversation was great and I had such a lovely time. I love it when you seem to enjoy all of your friends new friends in their new cities!

This was our spot and it was seriously a perfect night! Good weather, good company, good food and good margaritAS!

Saturday day can be summed up with these...it was a beautiful last day and last night. And I really fell in love with Dallas.

I also finished Something Blue on my way home.  I enjoyed this quick read just as much as I enjoyed Something Borrowed.  And this last quote kinda stuck with me. It is very simple, and doesn't seem that profound - but after reading these 2 books and an intertwinement of my own life experiences. It meant a lot to me.

Love and Friendship. They are what make us who we are, and what can change us, if we let them.

I will be out of townsies again this week in California! If anyone is interested in guest blogging or has any ideas for a guest post, please let me know!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend! Xx,

Delicious Ambiguity.

I've been in a really amazing mood these past few weeks.  As I walked into work the other morning and greeted everyone, I realized I was that annoying good morning girl way too early!  Maybe it's that spring is sneaking it's warmth in on me on random mornings.  Or the sunshine beaming through my window at work.  Maybe it's the fact that I'm so busy at work. I love being busy {I complain about it, but secretly, i love it}  And feeling needed.  Maybe it's the fact that my friends are hilarious and make me laugh constantly.  Maybe it's my parents that are constantly supporting me in my decisions about my future.  I used to get so caught up in the future that I got lost in the present.  the more I learn about life, the more I learn, you're always going to challenged by something.  And that's the way it should be. my friend Jess posted this the other day:

I believe this is SO true. Then I found this quote:

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.”

I think I used to just get too intangled into what's next. And lately I've been living for the now.  And I think I'm going to keep it that way.

What are quotes that you live by? I love finding new little pieces of inspiration!! Hope you all are enjoying these brisk almost spring days as much as me!

Marvelous March. . .

we're 2 days into March. which means. . .

1. March Madness. ultimately leading to.....the Final Four. and my boys in blue taking  home the tournament trophy. a girl can dream. . .

if we can get there without these boys giving Coach Cal a heart attack, I promise to take a deep sigh of relief...I always worry about his heart.

2. these little guys are going to start popping up everywhere. I was introduced to mr. white chocolate reese's peanut butter egg via my roommate Audra last year. and have developed a little obsession with them.  something about the white chocolate and peanut butter ratio (in the egg shape only, please!) is undeniable AH-mazing.  if you're skeptical, I was too! but they're simply perfect. thank goodness they're only around for Easter.

3. I am planning a crawfish dinner with some very great people next Tuesday! the restaurant is flying in some crawfish.

4. I voted for Paul McDonald last night. {alot}

5.  I am trying to decide what to give up for Lent.  usually, I find Lent as a time to pick back up my NYE resolution and give it another go, but I've been sticking to my NYE resolutions.  what are you all giving up?? I have a very stressful month with work and giving up caffeine is just not an option. and I've been debating about whether to go to Ash Wednesday. last time I went, I saw someone I knew later on and they laughed at me and awkwardly wiped my forehead. not the ashes, do not touch!  maybe it would help if I wore this. . .

The Next To Be With You. . .

It's an understatement to say that I've been buried at work.  It just seems like I keep getting parts of projects done, or once I get one thing checked off my list, I find something else I need to do.  I guess that's life. But sometimes I feel like I could be there all night.  I love my dad and his wisdom and sometimes I need to remember the work will always be there.  I desperately need a clutter fairy to come and work some magic for me...it's been like this since last week! I seriously can't stand when I have piles of paper on my desk.

BUT, I am so excited to find out the winner of the Peony Clutch on Thursday!  It came in the mail and I am loving it!

Off subject:  I met up with some of my high school girlfriends this weekend for a bachelorette planning party {really-just-an-excuse-to-get-together}.  It was about 2 and a half hour drive and the parkway makes me almost fall asleep and while on the way down the sun was setting and I hear this jam by Mr. Big. It was perfect! Do you ever just forget about those songs you LOVE to belt out. I certainly do and it made my night.

you must click on the YouTube link...it wouldn't let me embed, but the video and long hair is worth 3 minutes and 26 seconds of your life :) I mean it I cannot get over and am digging the long hair. haha!

What are some of your favorite songs to sing to yourself in your car or while getting ready? I seriously need to update my iPod! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Weekending. . .

I am excited, I get to spend the weekend with these cool people. I think part of my obsession with How I Met Your Mother is that I relate it so much to my friends.  I think we are just like the cast, only better. .

I love them most of all because we laugh. a little too much sometimes.

And we've all been through a lot together.  And they're always there for me. and vice versa. I think it's great when you have one person like this in your life, let alone an entire group.  I love all them.  Each of them are so unique and I don't know what I did before I met them. And well, I stole some photos below since 3 of my faves are missing from that photo... I also get to see Patney and Alaka this weekend.

Meet Patney (Patrick + Britney). They are hosting our Superbowl Party Sunday.

And Alaka...hahah I had to add this because I love the TT shirt. I have been tweeting him for a solid 6 months and no tweet backs :(

I'll be cooking up a Paula Deen inspired dish for our Superbowl Par-tay.  My obsession with The Lady is unhealthy, but I just love her heart. And story.  If you haven't read her book It Ain't All About The Cooking, you should.  So what if I'm an 80 year old woman in a 20 something body.

What are your alls weekend plans? Who ya cheering for?  I will be rooting for the STEELERS. Woot woot.
